Staff Assistance Volunteer Options:
The Ford PTSA serves to bridge the gap between school and home by involving parents in the school atmosphere, providing educational enhancements, and advocating for children’s needs. PTSA’s objectives are always geared at improve the quality of school and home life. Fundraising takes place in an effort to give grants to teachers, sponsor family events, and provide community outreach. PTSA relies heavily on ongoing volunteerism throughout the year and they seek to involve parents and caregivers that represent our community.

The Ford ES Foundation is organized exclusively for the purpose of raising funds and providing resources beyond those provided by Cobb County School District or the PTA for the benefit of all students at Ford Elementary. These additional educational opportunities can only be funded through Foundation efforts, and not through the Cobb County Board of Education or our PTSA.

The establishment of the local school council is intended to bring the community and school closer together in a spirit of cooperation to solve difficult education problems, improve academic achievement, provide support for teachers and administrators, and bring parents into the school-based decision-making process. The Ford Elementary School Council was established to help the Cobb County Board of Education develop and nurture participation, bring parents and the community together with teachers and school administrators to create a better understanding of and mutual respect for each other’s concerns, and share ideas for school improvement. The Ford Elementary School Council shall be reflective of the school community.

Ways to Volunteer:
1. Visit our PTAvenue Parent Portal and register your family name and contact info. Indicate your volunteer and skills interests. You will be contacted from the committee chair or board member.
2. Go to the PTAvenue Parent Portal and view the calendar. Events with a yellow hand indicate that volunteers are needed. Click on the hand to volunteer for the event.
3. Contact our volunteer coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org to receive more information.
4. Contact your room parent or classroom teacher to find out what needs your specific classroom has.
